Our therapist will assess your life and you as a whole and discover which doors we need to shine the light on for true change. We incorporate evidence-based angles of care, using both science and heart. Together, we will work towards real shifts. This is not just talking, but processing, resolving, and deep emotional healing. Our overall aim is to help you experience the healing you need and help you return to balance and your highest alive.

Trauma

Trauma is anything from the past that can still negatively impact the present. When trauma is left unprocessed, it can show up in our patterns and inform how we see and relate to people and events in our everyday life. Maladaptive thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and the associated coping mechanisms can manifest in an attempt to protect us from those impacts. Essentially, it can throw our mind, body, and soul off balance, creating stress. We can feel as though that trauma is still happening, even if it was in the past.

EMDR is a widely recognized evidence-based therapy to support individuals through trauma recovery. It uses guided eye movements to help your brain reprocess and organize past experiences. It allows what’s been stuck to move through in an adaptive way, so you can feel clear, at peace, grounded, and better able to move forward.

Anxiety can feel exhausting, like your mind and body are constantly on alert and unable to fully settle. Together, we work to understand the deeper roots contributing to that overwhelm while addressing the patterns, stressors, and experiences keeping you stuck in survival mode. Through this process, you can begin to feel more grounded, safe, and in control again, allowing you to move through life with greater calm, clarity, and ease.

Stress can come from juggling responsibilities at work and home, along with daily pressures. Often, our inner self simply needs healing, attention, love, and care. Our brain is wired to survive and not thrive, and this stress response is an indication of a cry for ‘support’. We are all equipped with a higher intelligence to guide us back to balance, but sometimes we can get in our own way. Our therapists will stand alongside you to help you reconnect with that path of ease. Our sessions will be a therapeutic space to step out of that stress response and will be the support and peace you’ve been craving.

Depression can feel like a shutdown response, a withdrawal from the present, and even a regret of the past. It can rob us of passion and energy flow, making us feel out of touch with our true selves. In our work, we will uncover the roots and bring a unique angle of care towards balance, energy, and inner hope. We will help you feel like yourself again, at your own pace.

Relationships can be challenging. No matter how much we try to change things, the same patterns and dynamics can keep repeating.
Together, we will explore where these imbalances come from, the areas needing growth, and the patterns keeping you stuck. We then create a safe space for healthier communication, deeper connection, and new ways of relating to emerge and be practiced.

This work helps individuals and couples move forward with more awareness, accountability, connection, and authenticity — while honouring both themselves and the relationship.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, sessions are offered virtually in the comfort of your home across NL, and Ontario, making it easy to access sessions from wherever you are.

Sessions are focused on helping you get to the root of the patterns, stressors, and imbalances you may be experiencing, not just talking or venting. You will be supported in processing what is coming up while also working toward meaningful, lasting change. During the first couple of sessions, we spend time building a deeper understanding of you, your experiences, and your goals, while still offering support and practical healing tools along the way. As therapy progresses, sessions become a collaborative space to process current challenges, explore deeper patterns, and focus on the areas that feel most important to you. Our therapists are gentle, supportive, and honest in their approach.

Our therapists are covered under ‘counselling/psychotherapy’ within most insurance plans. Katie is also covered under ‘naturopath therapist.’

We work with teens, adults, parents, and couples who are navigating stress, anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges and are ready for a deeper level of change.

Yes, EMDR is just as effective virtually as it is in-person.

Katie also provides therapeutic stretch and reiki healing treatments in St. John’s. There is very limited space for these sessions. Please send Katie a message if you are interested in one of these treatments or would like to blend this with your counselling care.
